Clear And Go is a compatible trouble code scanner and trouble code clearing auto doctor tool that connects to your car's OBD gateway. It is currently available in Bluetooth and WiFi versions. Its main purpose is to provide a simple way to scan and clear trouble codes, showing information about the codes. However, it's important to note that clearing trouble codes does not address the root cause of the problem. Prioritize proper car maintenance and servicing. Service personnel rely on trouble codes to identify and address issues, so do not remove them before servicing your car.

Note: This tool is safe, but it is important to properly maintain your car to clear errors in the correct way.

• Please note that according to my logs, v1.5 and v2.1 (Chinese clones) are the most commonly used versions. In reality, v1.5 and v2.1 seem to be v1.4

App permissions

• Requires internet connection
• Bluetooth
• WiFi state
• Vibrate
• Location permission (needed by Bluetooth for Android's "Access to Hardware Identifier" change on Android 6.0 and up; also required for WiFi to get WiFi SSID information)

No identity-related or unnecessary permissions are required.

Compatibility with your car

OBD-II is a standard protocol that has been widely available since around 1996. Therefore, any car with an OBD-II port should be able to work with this app, as it is based on the standard.

Troubleshooting common issues

If you experience problems connecting:

1. Ensure the car ignition is on or start the car.
2. If the issue persists, try using other apps to verify the condition of the ELM327 device.
3. If the device works with other apps but not with this one, please send an email to [email protected], specifying the brand and version of your adapter.

Potential damage to your car

• This app will not cause damage if you use a normal, unmodified ELM327 adapter.
• However, be cautious of super low-quality models that may have faulty soldering of internal components, which could potentially cause a short circuit in your car's OBD bus. Most cars have good protection against short circuits, but it is still important to exercise caution.
• Normal ELM dongles cannot modify or write data into your car's bus.

Small note of value to some users:

I do not collect information about my users using analytics tools. As a result, I do not know what my users like most about my apps. Therefore, ratings with comments are highly valuable.

Exception gathering

Starting from 07.05.2018, the app will send me connection failure exceptions along with the connected ELM adapter version (if obtainable during the connection). This greatly aids in troubleshooting connection issues, which this app currently experiences.

Overview of OBDii / OBD2

OBDii is an improvement over earlier OBD standards and is primarily designed for diagnostics. It provides real-time monitoring of different parameters related to car component status and allows access to the memory of detected trouble codes. As it is based on standardization, any OBDii-capable device can retrieve data from any OBDii-supported car.
